Matt lives in Hesston, KS with his wife and beautiful 4-year-old daughter. Early on Matt realized his passion for numbers and entrepreneurship. Growing up in a small town he always was intrigued by small businesses that played a crucial role in the economy. Outside of his career, Matt loves playing with his daughter, officiating sports, fishing, and growing in his faith.

Extensive experience completing bookkeeping for investments utilizing QuickBooks
Prepare financial statements of investments in accordance with GAAP standards
Analyze financial data around sales, expenses, inventory to find opportunities to better align with investment productivity metrics and strategy
Encapsulate data and present to management in a clear concise analysis or summaries
Explore and compile analysis around the market for potential mergers or acquisitions
Utilize Microsoft Power BI and PowerPoint to create visualizations used for presentations in board meetings or in pitches to prospective investors
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy - Financial Analyst - 2017 to 2019
Partnered with different departments to understand the cost of production; Advised cost centers to ensure expenses are aligned with budget, costed wind turbine components – and communicated analysis findings to management, monitored inventory balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and articulate variances, and assisted with the preparation of monthly financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
Koch Industries - Financial Analyst - 2014 to 2017
Matt started his career and spent time as an Accountant at Koch Industries (Ag & Energy Solutions), Wichita, KS. While in this role Matt: Worked on the Treasury team responsible for tasks like Managing foreign currency risk, cash positioning based on strategic investing initiatives, producing financial statements for the Treasury team, collaborating with global locations to implement a corporate card program. As well as spending time on the Financial Reporting team: Reconstructing the SG&A capability, drove process efficiencies utilizing tools such as Microsoft Access, collaborating with auditors, and participating in the college recruiting efforts.
Education:
After high school, Matt attended Hesston college and graduated with his Associates degree in business. Following a month-long service trip, he spent the next two years at Washburn University before graduating and obtaining his Bachelors in Accounting.
Certifications & Additional Experience
Matt is a Certified Management Accountant – an accounting designation certifying knowledge and expertise in manufacturing accounting awarded from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
After starting an IMA group at Washburn University, Matt joined the Wichita chapter and was selected as President in 2018.
During his time at Koch, Matt was a Koch Accelerate Academy Innovation Finalist & “Accelerator Award” Recipient. This award was given to young employees that had bright futures, and exemplified innovation in their roles.
